If you
are considering organising a worship gathering in your area, I would
recommend YARDEN. They are a passionate band, gifted songwriters and skilled at
leading people into God's presence.
Noel Richards
Let's keep things as simple as we can.
This really shouldn't work: Four guys from different towns, musical
backgrounds, Churches and fast-food tastes making music with a deep sense
of unity and friendship for one another. But for some reason, it does.
Most bands will use a page like this to sell what they do and how good they
are, a bit like a product. We want to try and do things differently. This
is now our 11th year in existence..... that is quite a while. Between 1997 and
2005, we were known as
NAMELESSMUSIC, a name that suited who we were and
what we did. As we entered 2006, it was time for change.
After much
discussion and consideration, we agreed it was the right way forward
and agreed on a new name - YARDEN. Why? It is an old Hebrew word
for the river Jordan and as Christians we believe
God is telling us it was time to "get up from where you are and cross over
to the other side". You know how sometimes you feel it's just time move on,
like moving house or changing your job? Well, we leave all of those
decisions to God and He has told us to move on as a band.
The kind of music we play can
best be described as anthemic rock with a hint of classic singer-songwriter
thrown in but with lyrics which speak of our love and devotion to God. We come from the same sonic stable as
Coldplay,
U2 and
Keane but
enjoy listening to a whole range of music. We currently have Tom Baxter, David Gray,
The Fray, The Foo Fighters and whole
bunch of other people in our CD player.
We want the
music we play to be honest
and open and honour God, touch lives and change hearts. God and our love
for him is at the centre of who we are and what we do; He is the reason. Simple.
